In Stellar Pulse I have created an installation of half pyramids, which form stars, placed on a parallelogram of earth (on the floor).
This work is an attempt to make earthly stars and bring them down from the sky to earth. That is, to connect the sky to the earth. To reverse the sensation they evoke.
At the bottom of the installation there are a few noses upright from the stars which can be made interactive. The viewer can strike them, and by striking them they produce sound that diffuses through space. The work is thus also presented in the form of a performance.
Sound for me is identified with space. The phenomenon of sound creates pulsating vibrations in space. These impulse vibrations can be produced by any body when it is set in motion or vibration. The shape formed in space by sound is spherical in all directions.
Through the disturbances I cause in space and time, I am interested in defining new spatial contexts for the viewer/visitor, which will redefine their position or way of seeing within the installation.
I am interested in connecting material existence with spiritual or cognition. Through the senses, such as hearing – sound and smell – smell of the earth, different ways of perceiving space are unlocked.
