Emma Amos

Emma Amos is a post-war artist associated with the Black artistic Renaissance, born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1937. She has had numerous exhibitions in the United States and internationally, with notable shows at prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Amos has been exhibited alongside renowned artists such as Faith Ringgold and Romare Bearden, and her artwork is housed in museum collections including MoMA and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
