Rob Prior BIOGRAPHY
From the moment he could hold a crayon, Rob Prior was destined to become an artist.
Even in his earliest years, he was exploring complex mediums such as oil paints and artist’s charcoal, showcasing his innate talent and curiosity. Driven by a fierce determination to excel in his craft, Rob took the unusual step of training himself to become ambidextrous. Fearful that an unforeseen accident could jeopardize his artistic abilities, he switched everything in his life, from playing guitar to throwing a baseball, to his non-dominant hand.
A breakthrough in Rob’s creative process occurred one day while he was simultaneously working on math homework and painting. This unorthodox approach unlocked new dimensions in his artistry and has since become his preferred method for creating masterpieces. Today, Rob is renowned for his live painting demonstrations, captivating audiences around the globe with his unique talents.
Now residing in California with his wife and family, Rob continues to push the boundaries of artistic expression, inspiring countless others with his remarkable journey and unwavering dedication to his craft.
Rob Prior completed his undergraduate studies at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. Subsequently, he pursued higher education and obtained his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Toledo.
