Hobbs graduated with B.S.  Computer Science from the University of Texas. Upon graduating in 2010, Hobbs moved to New York City to pursue a career as an artist. He worked as a freelance graphic designer while creating and exhibiting his artwork on the side. He struggled to gain recognition and make a living from his art for over a decade.
