I work in Encaustic because this medium gives me all the freedom in my work I’m looking for. As it is one off the oldest painting stiles there is, I wonder about the way the old masters created their work without the modern materials we have today. The Letters on the painting are Asemic writing – without any meaning for others, only for me. Here I send a message to the universe or to a person I love. I included old legal documents to honor our past and our ancestors. I incorporate objects into my art which other people carelessly throw away. Thus I give them a new voice. I appreciate woman, which still today in the 21st century must mostly stand in the back. The forest is a place of silence in which I can really lose myself and recharge my batteries.
