Evelyn Weinzierl is one of the emerging young artist, who work with the human figure. Like her master-class teacher Stephan Balkenhol her preferred material is wood. With an enormously careful and time-consuming way of working, the artist achieves a tremendously strong concentration of expression. All her figures are completely in their own right, radiating peace, strength and interiority. A suspenseful counterpoint to this form moments of physical balance as well as a conscious play with narrative fragments, which, however, remain mysteriously suspended and stimulate the imagination of the viewer.
